North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor and am board certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor. I also hold my certification as an Eating Disorder Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). I received my Master's in Counseling from Arizona State University, and completed my undergraduate education in Sociology and Theology from Wheaton College.

I provide individual counseling for teenagers, young adults and adults, and provide family counseling as well. My clinical expertise includes eating disorders and body image, depression and mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, grief and loss, women’s issues, relationship issues, and life transitions. My faith is an important part of my life and worldview, and as such, I offer Christian Counseling for those who would like to explore issues in the context of their faith. Everyone is at a different place in their own spiritual journey, and I strive to meet clients where they are to provide holistic healing- physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological healing.

I am a member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina and also hold professional membership in IAEDP, the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.

My Philosophy

I believe that the counseling process is unique to the individual and exists to provide support and healing for the tough times and situations that we go through. Counseling allows us to examine our lives, gain insight and move toward greater understanding of ourselves and situations that lead us to greater health and wholeness. Counseling can provide us with the encouragement and support to move in new directions by working to eliminate and change unhealthy patterns and behaviors. Through this process, growth, healing and change can occur and help us to meet our goals.

I love what I do and am thankful to enter into life with others to bring hope and healing. I learn daily about life and people, and am challenged to see the world in new ways. I enjoy walking through life with people, encouraging them and seeing their joy and hope restored into healing.

My educational training and background enables me to offer Christian counseling. While my beliefs serve to shape and influence the way that I view pain and healing, I work with people of all faiths and respect the beliefs of each individual.
